* Dave departs for Montana training camp in August. His camp is
directed at Brittanys in need of wild birds. Unlike other folks camps, his
camp is twice as long (2 months) as most and in an area that has the
earliest upland bird hunting season in the lower 48 states. Dave says
"Wild birds make bird dogs! Want intensity and desire? Send 'em
where a dog can realize his breeding."
* Now taking 2009 Montana reservations for
all age groups 5 months and up. Contact us!
Dave says " Consider yourself a serious bird hunter who spares no expense
when it comes to fulfilling the genetic potential of your dog? Try
Montana!"
* Congrats to Doug Arnold and his dog
'Gunner' (sired by Nubbin'). He won a 5 point open all-age stake in
the Kansas flint hills. He now has 7 points at age 3 and is starting to place
regularly (started out as just a hunting dog for Doug). Want to
see a 'wow' dog? Come watch Gunner, you won't be disappointed.
Also a big congrats for winning Adult Field Trial Dog of the Year at the
Texas Coastal Brittany Club!
* Since Brandon will only be trialing on a
very limited basis, you will not see him on the circuit much this year.
Dave trains mostly for hunters so will only be trialing his own personal
dogs and maybe one or two for friends. Please, no new field trial dogs
will be campaigned for hire by Dave.
As you know, We had a very successful 2008
spring trial season with 13 ribbons between 5 dogs. There were 4 blues
(2 All-age, 1 Derby, 1 shooting dog), 5 reds (3 All-age, 1 derby, 1 shooting
dog), 1 yellow (All-age) and 3 white AKC ribbons (2 All-age, 1 shooting
dog).
What do the above dogs all have in common?
All but one attend our annual Montana training camp. All of them
trained by Dave, start to finish!
*Lloyd K. had his female inseminated by
Nubbin's frozen semen and gave me this report:
Hi Dave,
I thought you may want to get an update to Nubbins
three sons <in Hawaii via frozen semen>:
Nubz on the Big Island has been hunting most
weekends with Kalani Pacheco and he just told me that Nubz is pointing birds
and honoring Kalani’s other two Brittany’s on their points. He says he
couldn’t be happier with his puppy. All his friends are amazed. I am so
thrilled at the news.
Makana on Maui is pointing wings, but has not
hunted. His new owner is not really a hunting enthusiast, but he may change
now?
All dogs show extreme intelligence, obedience, and
alertness. My expectations has been exceeded.
Thanks and Aloha for
now.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
* Nubbin's daughter
Anna completes her show championship June of 2007 and begins her field
training. Congratulations to her owner, Pete Price.
* Congratulations to "Lady" who has won her 3rd consecutive field trial stake.
She is one point shy of her Field Champion Title at age 3, 3 away from her
AFC. Way to go Dave & Brandon for handling her in the open stakes!
